Art Deco Chandelier signed by Charles Schneider in Frosted Glass with Nickel

Description
This stunning Art Deco frosted glass and nickel chandelier was realized by the illustrious atelier of Charles Schneider in France circa 1930. The chandelier features a conical channeled finial and a nickeled frame with stylized flame detailing running down each support. Creating a star silhouette, the frame support six sculptural frosted glass shades with a wealth of texture and incised patterns in relief. The shades offer stylized and abstracted greek key detailing running along the perimeters; clusters of faceted rock-like forms; as well as starburst, cubist and skyscraper style motifs displayed throughout. The chandelier affixes to a sculptural nickeled canopy with pinwheel motifs suggestive of lily pads via three rectangular supports. With its iconically Art Deco forms and materials (and impeccable quality of construction), this piece is sure to delight discerning collectors of first rate objects from this period as well as those with a penchant for all things exquisite. It is in excellent vintage condition. The height can be adjusted to suit. The chandelier accommodates six candelabra bulbs offering up to 360 watts of light.
