Art Deco Machine Age Chrome Glass Rod & Frosted Glass Chandelier by Petitot
-
Description
This stunning and rare Art Deco Machine Age chandelier was realized by the legendary atelier of Petitot in France circa 1935. It features a racetrack streamlined form with two curved ends in lustrous polished chrome with stacked translucent glass floret detailing. The chrome ends are connected via an abundance of translucent glass rods, while the bottom of the piece offers an elongated ovoid shade in frosted glass- gently diffusing light throughout any interior space. The fixture connects to an ovoid canopy- that repeats the form of the chandelier in miniature- with chrome ends and glass rods. With its painstaking attention to detail and iconic form (created by one of the great ateliers of this period), this piece is sure to delight discerning collectors of first rate Art Deco design as well as those with a penchant for all things exquisite. The fixture accommodates four candelabra based bulbs, offering up to 240 watts of light.
