This Yavapai basket has a checkerboard design in its main body and a negative zig-zag design in a top band. The complex design on the bottom that originates with the start is unusual and intriguing. This basket was woven by a very skilled weaver who planned her spaces meticulously as she expanded the form and made the turns around the ends. Negative designs are always impactful and desirable. -
