Elizabeth II Sterling Silver and Ruby Humidor Box Made for Saudi Arabia
Made by Peter Nicholas & Co Ltd in London in 1989. Rectangular box with corner bracket supports and hinged open scroll end handles. The top cover is engraved with map of Saudi Arabia; the names of 3 places written out and highlighted with rubies: the capital city Riyadh and two pilgrimage sites, Medina and Mecca (spelled here Makkah). Other scenes include a university campus and fortress ruins.
The interior of the box is cedar lined and underside has black laminate. In original leather-bound presentation case with fitted velvet and cover lining gilt-stamped “Mustafa Yousuf Saleh Kaki / Jeddah”.
Fully marked. Very good condition.
