Description
Two well-formed lounge chairs designed by Claudio Vagnoni for the Italian label 1P in the 1970s. These chairs bear the name Malu and are extremely comfortable. The interior of these chairs consists of polyurethane foam that molds to the person sitting in the chair. A black polyester shell extends from the front of the chair to the back and keeps it all together. The bouclé fabric is nicely folded into the shell and the stitching is phenomenal. There is also a nice sloping line from the front through the side of the chair to the backrest. At the separation of the seat and backrest, the fabric is connected to the frame by means of a padding technique. We also see two strips that are completely pressed into the chair, which makes for a nice detail. To the left and right of these so-called strips, beautiful pleats also run to the sides of the chair. These chairs are a delightful example of the Italian design craze of the 1970s and have stood the test of the time flawlessly. A laidback look combined with a wealth of comfort. The condition of these chairs is very good with only minor traces of usage.
