Santiago Medina (born 1964) is a Colombian-American sculptor renowned for his innovative stainless steel sculptures, which range from monumental outdoor installations to intimate indoor pieces. His great-grandfather, Emiliano Mejia, was a pioneering photographer and painter, while his grandfather, Rafael Mejia Uribe, was a prominent pediatrician and artist. Inspired by their dual careers, Medina pursued a path that merges art and medicine.
After completing his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, he further specialized in Neuroradiology and Pediatric Radiology at Boston Children's Hospital. Committed to enhancing the intersection of health care and art, he earned a Master of Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health, focusing on Health Care Management. His contributions to evidence-based medicine in medical imaging have been widely recognized, including the publication of the first book on Evidence-Based Imaging.
