American
Dmitri Wright's artistic lineage is deeply rooted in American Impressionism, with influential mentors including Samuel Brecher, who studied under Charles W. Hawthorne, founder of the Cape Cod Art School. Hawthorne, in turn, was a student of William Merritt Chase. Dmitri's journey led him to the Max Beckman International Scholarship at the Brooklyn Museum Art School under Rueben Tam's tutelage, and he further honed his skills at Cooper Union, studying with Wolf Kahn and Will Barnet. His artistic legacy spans the United States, numerous National Park sites, and international destinations, with a strong focus on the preservation and evolution of Impressionism. His work graces collections in various museums, corporate entities, and with private collectors across the globe. Additionally, Dmitri's role as a master artist and instructor at Weir Farm National Historic Site and other esteemed institutions demonstrates his dedication to passing on the tradition of American Impressionism. His impressive educational journey and memberships in influential organizations further solidify his place in the world of art.
