Modernist Hand-Blown Murano Glass Centerpiece in Scavo by Seguso
-
Description
This refined centerpiece bowl was realized in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production- by Seguso (one of the most celebrated ateliers on the island) circa 1980. The piece features a demilune top and bottom with a braided circular charcoal spherical embellishment in the center. The piece is finished using the ancient Scavo glass technique to create a chalky matte surface throughout, which is totally unique. With its clean modernist lines, monochromatic palate, and beautiful glass quality, this piece is not only a functional centerbowl but an objet d'art in its own right. It promises to add more than a touch of sophistication to any surface that it graces, regardless of the style of decor. It is in excellent vintage condition and signed "Seguso".
