About the designer:
Zaha Hadid has emerged as one of the preeminent architects and designers at the turn of the century, creating dynamic and complex forms. Awarded the Pritzker Prize in 2004, she is the first woman to receive the prestigious honor. Although her built works are few in number, her impact on the world of architecture and design has been enormous. The Moraine sofa references the geological phenomenon and echoes a typographical surface. Formally, the lines and contours are both abstract and realistic, illustrating Hadid's penchant for natural yet highly stylized designs.
