Description
Bench or daybed designed by Amir Farr in consultation with Oscar Niemeyer for the famous Strick House, Niemeyer's only completed residential commission in the United States.
Due to his inability to obtain a US visa, Niemeyer relied on American architectural firms to file and realize his plans. Farr was the architect of record for the interior design of the building, but his designs were all coordinated around Niemeyer's complete vision.
The low profile and rigid geometry gains warmth through the stained Douglas fir, resting or recessed square steel legs. -

Documentation: Ample Provenance Origin: United States Period: 1950-1979 Materials: Fir Condition: Good. In original condition, but shows well. Some minor finish loss and surface rust to steel legs.
