Four Piece Furniture Doll Set. All Tin. Circa 1950’s
-
Description
All tin; circa 1950’s four piece doll furniture set, scaled to fit and accommodate all of your 8″ or so dolls from that era, e.g. “Muffie, Ginnette, etc”.
Display your dolls around this ensemble consisting of a clothing wardrobe, playpen, high chair, and a crib.
Crib
9″ long x 5″ wide x 6 1/2″ high. Fabulous “Teddy Bear” and kitten graphics to both headboard and foot board; floral litho to sides, and bright and crisp checkered pink and white kitten pattern to bottom of crib (see images).
Playpen
7″ square x 3 3/4″ high. Blue and yellow with bears, dogs, zebras, and elephants decorating the base, on a blue backdrop.
Wardrobe
6″ wide x 3 3/4″ deep x 7 1/2″ high
Decorated in green and red bird and floral design on a yellow backdrop; doors slide back and forth to reveal hanging bar on which to hang doll clothes, along with a top shelf.
High Chair
3 1/2″ wide x 4″ deep x 8″ high
Little Teddy Bear on back of chair; movable tray goes up and down to place doll in or out of the high chair
The “J.Chein” logo is prevalent everywhere (see images) indicating “Made in U.S.A.” manufacture and J. Chein & Co. designer and maker—-not a knock off.
I have been collecting and dealing toys for over 40 years and this is the best example of this set I have seen.
The condition is excellent plus with no restoration or touch up paint of any kind;
no fading—the colors are bright and crisp; and the lithographs of animals are sharp and completely intact. All in all, this is a rare find, locating all four pieces together, and then to have them in such nice condition.
Note: The measurements stated in this “description” of each individual piece are accurate; the “overall” 14″ x 14″ x 8″ stated in the “heading” is for shipping purposes. -
