Beau Simmons

American, 1990

Beau Simmons has been honing his craft as a professional photographer since 2009, drawing inspiration from his upbringing just outside Joshua Tree National Park, CA.

At the young age of 21, Beau made waves in the fashion photography scene, collaborating with esteemed clients such as Marc Jacobs, Guess Jeans, Free People, and Converse. Renowned modeling agencies like Elite Models, IMG, and Ford Models sought his expertise, establishing him as a go-to photographer in the industry.

However, Beau's roots called him back. With cowboy spirit running through his veins, he embarked on a journey to embrace his love for the western lifestyle and the vast American landscape. Embracing the artistry of medium and large format film photography, Beau exclusively captures his artworks on film, paying homage to iconic figures in the medium like Richard Avedon and Steven Shore. Through his lens, Beau seeks to immortalize the essence of forgotten lifestyles, weaving narratives influenced by western culture and preserving authentic moments that embody a bygone era. His body of work evokes a sense of nostalgia, stirring a range of emotions within the viewer.

Beyond his artistic endeavors, Beau is committed to telling authentic stories, including collaborating with American veterans. This dedication shines through in his inaugural coffee table book, "The Twenty-Year War," a poignant collaboration with two combat veterans, one of whom is his childhood friend.

While based in South Carolina, Beau's wanderlust leads him across the United States, where he can often be found immersing himself in various ranches, capturing the essence of the western lifestyle with every click of his camera.
