Brazilian Modern Lounge Chair in hardwood by Moveis Cimo, Brazil, 1950s

Description
This lounge chair was designed by Moveis Cimo in the 1950s. This company became the largest furniture producer in Latin America, and an essential chapter in the history of Brazilian furniture making. This charming lounge chair has a separate seat and backrest that seem to float over the sculptural curved solid wood structure. This silhouette is very typical of the time, representing Cimo’s commitment to quality and design. The wood on this piece has been expertly refinished and is in excellent condition. It has been reupholstered with a graphic fabric which goes along with the original design of the piece.
This beautiful piece is showcased next to a Joaquim Tenreiro sofa, a Jorge Zalszupin coffee table and armchair and a Giuseppe Scapinelli side table and the vignette looks nothing less than spectacular.
This piece was quite popular in the fifties and was featured countless times in decoration magazines of the time in Brazil. Attached some vintage publications also.
