Pair of Italian Mid-Century Nightstands In The Manner Of Borsani, Italy 1950's
-
Description
Nightstands veneered in rosewood and glass top in the manner of Borsani. These 1950s Italian bedside tables do not lack style or refinement. Sharp raised edges and a ribbed facade with overlapping door panels make one think in the direction of Borsani or, for example, the style of Vittorio Dassi.Neatly designed in terms of proportions and made with the right techniques, these two cabinets are pleasant to look at. The corpus is completely veneered in rosewood and shows a modest drawing. On the trapezoidal door panels we see a herringbone motif and two brass handles. After opening the doors, a storage space completely veneered in teak reveals itself. Directly above there is an unlocked storage area where it is easy to see what is actually laying there. This is due to the glass plate with round corners that is recessed into the wood. These bedside tables are in good condition with minimal signs of wear such as scratches, stains and color differences. Not unusual, but entirely consistent with the age and character of a vintage item."
