Absolutely rare pair of Art Nouveau bentwood armchairs from the period around 1904. Impressing with its amazing shaped lines, these elaborately crafted early 20th century armchairs were produced by the world renowed company of THONET Vienna - the epitome of bentwood furniture. Made of fine bentwood (=beechwood bent under hot steam) and trimmed to a dark nutwood, this uncommon, nowadays really hard to get Thonet armchairs have been professionally restored about ten years ago but were very rarely used since that - so this two beauties are still in great condition. The armchairs don´t only look good fantastic, they are also very comfortable to sit in. A soft, high-quality leather combined with the spring core seating surface offers excellent comfort. An outstanding, super rare pair of early 20th century Thonet bentwood armchairs. Marked with the famous branding stamp as well as the papermark.
