Description
"Enter a New Day" in the "Celeste and Sea" collection conveys the expansive transcendence of sea and sky that carries a deep well of stillness. It is an original painting by San Diego artist Shima Shanti in the medium of Encaustic. Layers of purified beeswax mixed with all natural earth-pigments and a fir-tree sap called damar resin are painted on Russian Baltic birch panel then fused with the flame of a torch. Completed in October 2023 it is an original one-of-a-kind encaustic artwork derived from the artist's own observation and imagination.
