Linda Wilder
Canadian
For Linda Wilder, art is not just a passion—it's a way of life. She approaches her craft with a 24-hour creative mindset, constantly observing, contemplating, and feeling the world around her. Through her intuitive energy and bold use of strokes, light, and texture, Linda seeks to convey the mood and emotion of her environment.
While Linda's paintings initially appear vividly representational, closer inspection reveals the intimate nuances and abstract tendencies that define her work. Raised as an "air force brat," Linda's childhood was marked by extensive travel across Canada before settling in Alberta. Her innate creative ability was evident from a young age, eventually leading her to pursue her artistic calling.
Linda's artistic education includes formal training at Red Deer College in Art & Design, as well as the University of Calgary's BFA program. She has further honed her skills through numerous workshops with acclaimed artists. A prolific artist, Linda enjoys exploring a variety of subjects and tools, with the palette knife being her favorite.
Currently residing in Calgary and painting full-time, Linda has achieved considerable success and recognition. Actively engaged in the art community, she has exhibited in various galleries and juried shows. Linda's paintings are cherished in both corporate and private collections across Canada and beyond, a testament to the universal appeal and emotive depth of her work.
