Description
Casino Model; D8; chair; Pentagon Group; 1987; Germany; Steel; Vinyl; German Avant-Garde Design; Zig Zag Shape; Mid-Century Modern;
Casino model ‘d8’ chair manufactured by Pentagon Group in 1987, made of steel and vinyl. German avant-garde design of the 1980s. These iconic 'd8' zigzag-shaped chairs were designed for the ‘Casino Café’ at the documenta 8 in Kassel, Germany. For documenta 8, the Pentagon Group was invited to create a public art piece which turned into the idea for an 'artists' café. Each member of the group designed furniture which was to be part of the room. The exhibition was intended to be movable, a 'travelling' café, but in the end, the group destroyed most of the work as a final performance.
We have six chairs available, three in red and three in black. Together they would be a striking addition to your dining area. These chairs are priced per piece. -
