French 19th Century Still-Life Oil Painting Depicting Pansies in Giltwood Frame

Sold Sold
  • Description
A French framed oil on panel still-life painting from the late 19th century depicting pansies, in giltwood frame. Created in France during the later years of the 19th century, this oil painting depicts a bouquet of pansies displayed in a teal-colored vase. Boasting lovely pastel colors including blue, pink, purple and yellow tones, the pansies are joyously standing out on a brown background, the ensemble resting on a table top. The light, coming from the left, is creating a subtle sense of contrast that enlivens the scene. Set inside a carved giltwood frame and signed lower right, this late 19th century vertical floral still-life will bring a touch of graceful elegance to any home, whether hung above a commode, console table or demilune.
