    Beautiful bronze handbell.
    In excellent condition

    Inscription
    The Hand Bell has beautiful decorations.
    On the side inscribed in Dutch: DESE KLANK ROEPT OM DRANK
    Translation: The sound of this bell calls for a drink.
    This bell can be attributed to Jan Crans as well as to his son Cyprianus Crans.

    So, the one who is ringing the bell, has to buy everyone a drink!

    JAN CRANS (1670-1739)

    Jan Crans was a famous Dutch Artillery and Bell Founder, who lived and worked in Amsterdam, Enhuizen and The Hague.
    He was married twice. In his first marriage he had a son Cyprianus, who also became a Bell Founder.
    In his second marriage he had 2 children, Cornelis, also Bell Founder and Reijnsjen.
