LATE 17TH CENTURY FLEMISH VERDURE TAPESTRY
Large Flemish verdure tapestry depicting a broad landscape. In the middle distance is a castle from which runs a river through the centre and over rocks to the bottom left hand side. One duck swims in the river whilst another looks on from the river bank and other birds fly overhead.
On either side of the river there are thickets of trees and in the foreground of the tapestry there are shrubs growing along the bank of the river.
Finely woven in wool and silk, with a later single plain border. Some restoration consistent with age.
The tapestry has been cleaned, and is fully lined and ready to hang.
