$ 55,921
  • Description
    19th Century English Mahogany Centre Table
    H: 75 cm (29 1/2")
    W: 172 cm (67 3/4")
    D: 172 cm (67 3/4")
    Regency mahogany and ebony centre table of superior quality.

    The circular top is constructed of the best grade solid figured mahogany with a reeded edge, above a solid mahogany frieze with ebony mouldings and four recessed panels with carved patera and anthemions.

    Supported on a base with a central reeded column and carved lappets, above quatre-form concave plinth with further ebony mouldings and carved patera with flanking anthemions, raised on four oversized carved paw feet with further carved patera and scroll wings, above sunken brass castors.

    Excellent colour throughout and well preserved untouched condition, with some signs of wear, commensurate with age. Also with the ability for the top to tilt upright for storage, using a second set of manufacturer holes in the bearers to raise the height of the top.

    Circa 1820.
