LOUIS XIV ROSEWOOD BOW FRONTED COMMODE
Bronze mounted rosewood parquetry bow fronted commode. The front gently curved opening with two small drawers over two wide drawers, adorned with rosewood cross banding and large elaborate bronze handles with cornucopia backplates. The central part with female masks after the antique. The front corners resting on rounded supports edged with cast bronze decoration and surmounted by a bronze mask after the antique with a bat and a bird wing. The front legs with bronze twinned scroll feet with a central shell and acanthus leaves. The centre apron with a bronze mask of Boreas, Greek God of the wind, the sides with large cast bronze masks of Hercules.
