On offer for your consideration we have a Marco Zanuso 'Sleep-O-Matic' Sofa manufactured by Arflex.
Original 1950s ‘Sleep-O-Matic’ three-Legged Sofa by Marco Zanuso for Arflex which converts into a day bed. The seat is mounted on a track which separates from the backrest by sliding forward.
Very comfortable classic design. There are three splayed brass feet in the front and three vertical supports in the back, and the sofa in original upholster in dark brown fabric.
This design was awarded a gold medal at the 1951 IX Triennale di Milan.
Marco Zanuso is an Italian designer, architect and university lecturer. He was one of the first in his country to take an interest in integrating new technologies into the product industrialization process. -
