The Crown was created by Jacques Jarrige as a suspended site specific sculpture for the Vestibule of Saint Gereon's Basilica in Cologne, Germany. It is placed above his other sculpture "the Carrying of the Cross"
It is made of two braids of hammered aluminum ribbons evoking Christ's crown of thorns. -
