Eric Moore

American, 1989
Eric Moore's artistic journey diverges from the conventional narrative of many established artists. Unlike his counterparts who began their artistic endeavors in childhood, Moore's passion for drawing and painting ignited in his early twenties. It was sparked by the captivating live painters he encountered at music and arts festivals during his college years.

Fast forward almost a decade to 2019, when Moore made the pivotal decision to commit full-time to his craft. Departing from the visionary art prevalent in the festival scene, he embarked on a journey of artistic exploration, broadening his repertoire to embrace a contemporary visual language. Over the course of 2019 and 2020, Moore delved into diverse styles, cultivating a unique aesthetic characterized by themes of geometric abstraction, minimalism, and color field painting.

Central to Moore's recent body of work is an exploration of color's emotive potential, achieved through the interplay of color, light, and line. His contemporary color field paintings feature expansive canvases adorned with saturated gradients seamlessly transitioning between hues. Additionally, they showcase sequences of concentric color bands, inviting viewers to contemplate the intricate relationship between color, beauty, and perception.

On a conceptual level, Moore prioritizes the visceral impact of aesthetics over intellectual discourse. His aim is to evoke profound emotional responses rather than provoke analytical contemplation. Rooted in a minimalist philosophy, his art eschews external references, transcending conventional language to create a space for introspective engagement with pure subjectivity and abstraction. Ultimately, Moore's artistic mission is singular: to evoke a sense of transcendent beauty.
