TWO 18TH CENTURY REGÉNCE PERIOD FRENCH ARMCHAIRS
Near pair of walnut fauteuils, with shaped backs “chapeau de gendarme” upholstered with gros grain needlepoint with a decor of pomegranates and leaves, surrounded by large domed brass nails. Both with shaped stretchers (one replaced) with slightly different front legs, one terminating with hoofs “pied de biche’, the other terminating with an inward curl. Both with carved acanthus leaves to the arms, one with similar carving to the front legs.
The upholstery is in good condition.
