Description
Three orange ceramic coffee tables, made in the 1960s and attributed to Roger Capron (unsigned). The base, in black lacquered metal, supports an enameled ceramic top. Practical, the two small tables are housed under the larger one. The whole thing is in very good condition. This model with flamboyant tones is a great classic from the famous French ceramist.
Roger Capron (1922-2006): The undisputed master of 20th century French ceramics. Roger Capron settled in Vallauris in 1946 and contributed to the renaissance of Provençal ceramics. His style is characterized by simple, refined shapes, bright colors and geometric or nature-inspired patterns. He explores different techniques, such as earthenware, stoneware and porcelain, to create decorative objects, vases, wall panels and sculptures. A pioneer in ceramic mass production, Capron sets up an efficient workshop and innovates in manufacturing techniques, while preserving the quality and authenticity of its creations. . Rewarded by numerous prizes (Gold Medal at the 10th Milan Triennale in 1954, International Grand Prix for Ceramics in 1970), his work met with immense success in France and internationally.
