This fine clock is crafted in the Louis XVI Neoclassical style from malachite and gilt bronze—with the malachite veneer being a later re-finishing. The clock features a cylindrical malachite clock drum inset with a white enamel dial beneath domed glass. The drum is supported between two malachite pillars, each complete with a tiered capital and each adorned to the front face with a gilt bronze mount. The pillars are supported on a shaped malachite base, which is raised on gilt bronze feet. The top of the clock drum is surmounted by an ornate gilt bronze and malachite urn-form finial. -
