Set of Two Wall Lamps in Yellow Murano Glass and Brass, Italy 1970s
-
Description
Majestic and definitely a set that will immediately attract attention when you are entering the room. These Murano glass lamps effortlessly add warmth and charm to a variety of interiors. These lamps are quite large and the way in which they are made is a feast for the eyes.
Design
Each lamp consists of two L-shaped parts that differ slightly because they are manually glass blown. You have to think about the capriciousness of the surface and the imperfections of the glass. The L-shaped glass has a hollow shape in the middle and when the two parts are attached together, a demi-sphere is created. The glass is cold pressed together and fixed with two brass screws. Screws on the fixture provide space to place the lamps closer or further from the wall. When the lamps are lit, a warm glow and elegance takes over the room. Light is partly reflected on the wall due to the curves, but also finds its way through the thick semi-transparent glass. Contours are accentuated and the irregularity of the glass, together with the patinated fixtures, provide an unparalleled appearance.
Condition
The condition of the lamps is very good. Please take into account that the Murano glass has a rough structure that includes lines and bubbles. Due to the hand-made structure, the lamps are not fully even. -
