Christian Dior pair of ostrich eggs candle holders brass 1970s

$ 5,800
  • Description
    This pair of Christian Dior candle holders from the 1970s is attributed to Gabriella Crespi. The bases are made of half ostrich eggs made out of resin, while the brass shafts are each adorned with a fluted bone ring. Each candle holder is also set on a brass base with rounded edges, reminiscent of the voluminous curves of the rings. Reflecting the opulent aesthetic of the 1970s, this creation evokes the spirit of Crespi, who adeptly blends organic forms and materials with the eclectic trends of her time.
    Gabriella Crespi began collaborating with Maison Dior in the 1960s for home and table accessories, and from the 1970s, for furniture.
