Krekels who was born in 1942 in Begium began his career as a sculptor. He studied at the Institute des Arts Saint-Luc in Torunai. When he graduated the Institute, he worked primarily as a diamond designer and then channeled his talents into sculpting both figurative and abstract sculptures and creating his distinctive tables.
