Description
An early whaler’s dress cane with a clenched fist top, the shaft of turned whale bone, probably cut from a jaw bone, the top carved from the tooth of a sperm whale into a clenched fist with a four button cuff united to the shaft by a silver coloured metal collar cut to the top with scallops and decorated with engraving. English, circa 1840.
