Large bronze lighting sculpture by Carmelo Cappello .
Signed, dated and numbered "Cappello 1961 N. 3" on the stem.

Carmelo Cappello was born in Ragusa in 1912.
After his first studies at the Comisio Art Institute he moved to Rome where he lived for a year working in Ettore Colla's studio. In 1930 he moved to Milan where he attended evening courses at the Castello Sforzesco. A scholarship allows him to follow the courses of Arturo Martini and Marino Marini at the Istituto Superiore d'Arte in Monza.
In 1937 he began his activity as a sculptor. -
