French Mid-18th Century Louis XIII Style Walnut Two-Door Bonnetière with Drawer
-
Description
A French Louis XIII style walnut bonnetière from the mid-18th century, with two doors, central drawer and original hardware. Born in France during the 1750s, this walnut cabinet showcases the stylistic characteristics of the Louis XIII era. A large molded cornice overhangs the façade presenting two doors separated from one another by a central dovetailed drawer. Each door, adorned with raised diamonds motifs ("en pointes de diamant" typical of the Louis XIII style), opens to reveal, thanks to its original hardware, inner shelves offering convenient storage possibilities. The side panels are carved with diamond motifs while the ensemble is resting on petite feet, bun in the front. With its Louis XIII lines and walnut patina, this two-door bonnetière circa 1750 will bring a touch of French elegance to any bedroom or living room.
