Description
Original oil on canvas provocative figurative painting by the American artist Martin Rosenthal. Mid century modern. Signed lower left. Circa 1955. Condition is very good. Presently unframed. Framing options are available. Provenance: A Florida estate.
Martin Rosenthal (1899-1974) was born in Woburn, Massachusetts. He completed military service in 1925 and then studied at the Art Students League with classmates John Sloan, Robert Henri and Boardman Robinson. As George Luks' associate at the Luks School of Painting - he also taught at Luks' summer home.
