Description
Alexander Sharpe Ross - or Alex Ross. This work is a perfect artistic statement with every formal element in perfect harmony. It's a masterfully balanced composition combined with two beautifully rendered narrative portraits that drive this mid-century illustration masterpiece. The disposition of the figures as they relate to surrounding colors and shapes makes this work somewhat unique. Ross was a top illustrator and did commissions for Saturday Evening Post and Good Housekeeping, Cosmopolitan, Collier's, Woman's Home Companion, and Reader's Digest. Signed lower left
