An unusual mirror-backed model of a section of the steamship Catherine Govan, of rectangular form, showing three decks of lined boxwood decking, a carved wooden lifeboat in silvered davits, fitted with crossboards and oars and inscribed Catherine; Govan, the superstructure with lined fittings and deck, with details including deck rails, cleats, bollards, ventilator, companionway, telegraphs, binnacle, water cask, fire buckets, lifebuoys, and other details, contained in original glazed wooden case. English, circa 1880.
