Cityscape Style Brass & Chrome Wall Mirror by Ello

$ 1,250
  • Description
    In the late 20th century, particularly during the 1970s, Mid-Century Modern design evolved by retaining the core principles of modernism while incorporating a fresh sense of fashion and glamour. This period emphasized a "sleek" aesthetic that maintained elegance. Ello Furniture Company emerged as a leader in this movement, becoming synonymous with modernist glam. Renowned for their use of reflective materials that enhance spatial perception, Ello's designs were highly favored by a discerning, high-fashion clientele.

    A prime example of Ello’s approach is this polished chrome and brushed brass wall mirror, inspired by Paul Evans’ Cityscape motif. This generously sized mirror combines form and function with its asymmetrical frame, featuring alternating brushed brass and polished chrome steps descending towards a large central mirror pane. The simple yet sleek polished chrome frame at the bottom edge adds an elegant touch to the mirror’s surface. Typical of Ello’s designs, geometry plays a significant role, making the piece glisten from every angle.

    In very good condition considering its age, the mirror shows only minor wear consistent with its history. It's an ideal addition to any space needing depth and material interest. The combination of brass and chrome allows this mirror to effortlessly enhance any well-appointed interior.
