    Fine Victorian bookbinding. Hartwig gives us a popular account of the polar regions, (mainly the Arctic which was better known in his time), including flora, fauna, and early travels. A well illustrated work in a spectacular publisher's binding.

    New edition. 8vo, xviii, [ii], 548 pp, 24 pages ads dated November 1883 at end, 8 chromoxylographic plates, 3 maps, numerous woodcuts, occasional light foxing, publishers olive green pictorial cloth gilt decorated in gilt and silver, very light rubbing to joints, a very good copy.
