Description
Fine Early Victorian Burl Walnut Kidney Shaped Desk a rare and hard to find desk of the finest quality. Most likely made by the firm of Gillow of Lancaster and London. With a kidney shaped top with a new tooled green leather top an exact match to what was replaced due to wear. The leather set in with a framed edge and 3/4 cast bronze gallery. The conforming case with a central drawer flanked by four graduated drawers each with a French style cast bronze handle. The drawers lock by a vertical panel that covers the drawer edges and locks preventing the drawers from opening without the key. The reverse of the piece with a bookshelf section. A fine piece in excellent condition.
