Model "ER 77/3" Chandelier with Floral Details for Itsu, Finland 1950s

By the 1950s, Finland had established itself as a force for innovation in design. The best qualities of Finnish light fixtures are their atmospheric light and disciplined, functionalist design that is not short of unique decorative elements. This lamp was manufactured by Itsu, or Itä-Suomen Sähkö (eng. Eastern Finland Electricity), a small, then lesser-known manufacturer that produced characteristic models in small quantities, mainly inspired by Paavo Tynell.

With its nature-inspired organic look, this chandelier is reminiscent of Finnish icons Paavo Tynell and Mauri Almari’s design language. Crafted from brass, this chandelier features a delicate frame that has been expertly designed to showcase the three opal glass shades and the curved arms. The glass shades have a milky appearance that diffuses the light beautifully, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere in any room.
