    Bill Curry for Design Line Nut Bookends, Nickel Chrome, Cast Iron, Signed. Strong heavy 8 sided nut form bookends with real threads in nickeled chrome over iron. The polished nickel fronts and backs are contrasted with a smooth pebbled texture of the top, bottom and sides. Weight of each bookend is 16 pounds. Both retain their original Design Line paper labels on undersides. There is discoloration to one side of both bookends - See photos 5 - 7.

    Design Line was based in El Segundo California and was founded by Bill Curry, 1927-1971. By 1969, Curry's reputation had developed to the point that the Los Angeles Times would describe him as "One of California's leading designers". Upon his death, a retrospective of Curry's designs was presented at the Brand Library Art Center in Glendale, California.
