Child Size Painted Blanket Chest
New England, early 19th c.
Hardwood, pine with blue paint.
Excellent untouched condition, minor losses and oxidation to original paint.
Provenance: Carlsen Gallery, Freehold, New York; Private Collection, Hudson, New York.
This wonderful small scale, child size blanket chest has a lid with applied moldings above a case supported by dove-tailed bracket feet. The chest has survived in remarkable condition.
