Victorian sterling silver water pitcher. Made by John C. Moore & Son for Tiffany & Co. at 550 Broadway, New York. Globular bowl with drum-form neck and lip spout. Cast lobed and split scroll-mounted handle terminating in long-tressed female mask with leaf headdress. Engraved bands with rinceaux and gryphons on hatched ground; with studded shaped frame (vacant). Beading. Dynamic midcentury Classicism. Marks (ca 1854-69) include maker’s and retailer’s stamps, and pattern no. 1511. Very good condition with strong definition and nice patina.
