Description
Arne Jacobsen's Egg Chair
Reissue of the iconic piece designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1958
Originally made by the Danish designer for the lobby of the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. Reupholstered in a pleasant beige buclé fabric. The Egg chair features an internal structure with a birch plywood frame covered with foam and fabric padding, a technique pioneered by Jacobsen. Star-shaped base made of metal.
The design of this armchair puts into practice the theories of design integration in architecture. The idea behind the design was to allow a certain amount of privacy in public spaces, thanks to its characteristic egg shape that guarantees avant-garde and comfort at the same time.
