Italian Polychrome Chest of Drawers, 19th Century
Original 19th century Italian medium-sized chest of drawers with two large drawers.

The side edges of the chest of drawers, have the wood carved in the form of grooves. The skirt of the chest of drawers is also carved in the central part with a star-shaped motif.

The structure of the piece od furniture has its wood completely covered with stucco and paint. The top is painted in a highly stylised marble finish in black with white veining. The body of the chest of drawers is painted in pearl grey with Pompeian-style decorations based on festoons and textile garlands in blue with golden fringes and tassels.

Being completely hand painted with these motifs, it becomes a unique and very decorative piece.
