Slate Bench by Charlotte Perriand for Les Arcs, France, 1980s
-
Description
Rare, solid pine bench designed by Charlotte Perriand for the Résidence Les Mirantins and Les Archeboc at Les Arcs ski resort, an exceptional example of 1980s Alpine design. Created for one of Perriand's final projects from 1984-1987, this bench features four wide slats supported by two sturdy sled legs, embodying her minimalist approach that merges natural materials with a functional aesthetic, perfectly suited to the rugged mountain environment. Crafted from thick, solid pine, it was a key piece in the living area of the studio apartments at Les Mirantins. Its scarcity and provenance make it a highly sought-after item for collectors.
