French 19th Century Louis Philippe Gilt Mirror
-
Description
A graceful floral motif of iris traces the frame of this Louis Philippe mirror, likely made in the period of Japonisme enthusiasm in France from the late 1800s. The gold leaf process is evident in the faint lines at regular intervals along the molding, the beaded edge along the original mirror plate shaded with deep-red bole. Mirror plate shows minimal foxing. View the detailed images.
