Description
Karl Hagenauer Pair of Art Deco Bronze & Wood Musicians
Item #3626
Karl Hagenauer’s Pair of Art Deco Bronze & Wood Musicians showcases his mastery in the Art Deco style. As an influential Austrian designer and goldsmith, Karl Hagenauer followed in the footsteps of his father, Carl Hagenauer, who established Hagenauer Wien in 1898. Karl, who would later lead the family business, began his artistic journey at the Vienna School of Applied Arts at just eleven years old.
These sculptures beautifully capture the essence of music’s emotive power through the dynamic pose of the violinist. Karl Hagenauer’s avant-garde vision is evident in the combination of materials used. The gold violins adds a touch of opulence, while the wood infuses warmth and organic charm.
Hagenauer’s craftsmanship and art stands as a captivating ode to the creativity and dynamism of the Roaring Twenties. Each finely detailed note echoes the spirit of the era, showcasing Hagenauer’s enduring influence in the world of Art Deco. Its marked authenticity with WHW and the atelier’s signature further cements its provenance, making it a remarkable piece from the golden age of Austrian design.
